Why Full Service needs your Paramount+ password.
Full Service runs the recorder for you. To do that responsibly, BBBB must access the Paramount+ live feed through your own paid account, just as you would when watching it yourself.
Why this matters
Your account is what authorizes the recording.
BBBB does not provide or distribute Paramount+ programming. We provide recording software, cloud computing that can run the recorder for you, and personal data storage for your recordings. Having the recorder sign in through your own subscription keeps BBBB in that role: a software and hosting service working on your behalf, not a platform redistributing copyrighted content.
Why a password is necessary
Paramount+ does not currently offer a delegated sign-in option that would let you securely authorize BBBB without sharing account credentials. Because there is no app authorization or limited-access token available, our servers need your Paramount+ username and password to sign in on your behalf.
We use that access only to operate the recorder and deliver the BBBB features connected to your stream.
What we store
Your Paramount+ username and password are stored in our database so the recorder can remain signed in and recover when a session expires.
You can fully remove these credentials from BBBB at any time. Open Settings, go to Live Feed Credentials, and choose Clear saved credentials. Once clicked, we remove your credentials from the database and terminate the recording session immediately.
How to ensure access is revoked
Removing your credentials from BBBB deletes them from our database and terminates your recording session. If you want to ensure there's no way BBBB can access your account even if we wanted to, reset your Paramount+ password through the Paramount+ website. This invalidates the password previously provided to BBBB and prevents our servers from using it to sign in again.
Strongly recommended
Use a unique Paramount+ password.
Create a password used only for Paramount+, ideally with a password manager. Never reuse a password from your email, banking, social media, or any other account.
No online service can promise that a security incident will never happen. A completely unique password limits the impact: even if BBBB's systems were compromised, the exposed password could not be used to access your other accounts.
Prefer not to provide credentials?
Choose the Self-hosted or DVR setup instead. With either option, a recorder you control accesses the live feed, so BBBB does not need your Paramount+ password.
